What pages does a small service business website actually need?
Most service businesses need five pages: Home, Services, About, Service Area or Work, and Contact. Each page should answer one question a customer has before they reach out.
The short answer
Five focused pages beat twenty thin ones. Each page should earn its place by answering a real customer question.
The five pages
- Home: what you do, who you do it for, and how to contact you, all visible without scrolling.
- Services: each service in plain words, with what's included.
- About: who's behind the business and why customers can trust you.
- Service Area or Work: where you work, or real examples of what you've done.
- Contact: a short form, your phone number and your hours.
Example
A lawn care crew's Services page might list weekly mowing, spring clean-up and leaf removal, each with a one-line description and a 'Request a quote' button.
Before you build
Gather your logo, photos, service descriptions and contact details first. Having content ready is the biggest factor in how quickly a site can launch.
